Not Another Love Poem:
You are the sun to my moon
Nothing shines brighter than you
In daylight, I’m enraptured by your gaze
My life shines brightest when I hang onto your days
My mind reflects the pool of your love
And I turn your silence into drums
Playing a melody like the heartbeat by your lungs
Rhyming words that come from a gifted tongue
Break apart my innocence
Paint it green like Ricinus
Tape it back together
Like a cycle repeating forever
Cause I never learned my lessons
And I’m destined for depression
But I’m on the precipice of letting go of getting into heaven
So I’ll see you in the ether
And play the instrument of a reaper
Against hollowed bones
And I bite my tongue, but it hits home
That I’ll never break this fever
