Whiles {wahyles} noun:
a faceless entity, an enigma. A god in his own right; a devil to some.
Whiles is a caricature I’ve assembled throughout the years to describe what I believe is the beginning and end of humanity. He is merely a tool for me to explain my beliefs of the universe; how it ticks, what its purpose is, and, most importantly, how humans are and aren’t the sole creationers.
Whiles is a journey, mostly explained through words, but sometimes he shows up in my paintings and drawings. He is more emotion than being and can only be expressed through creative outlets.
Whiles is an ancient entity that I met some odd years ago. He is a darker deity that deals with emotions others might not perceive as good. Not just sadness and anger, but melancholy, nostalgia, hopelessness, envy, limerence, and existentialism.
